Alchema is one of the partners of the LOC – LORETO OPEN COMMUNITY Project
Alchema has took part in the LOC – LORETO OPEN COMMUNITY Project, winner of Reinventing Cities, the international call launched by the Municipality of Milan, together with C40 with the group of firms led by Nhood Italy – Ceetrus.
The project aims at redeveloping Piazzale Loreto, one of the most important squares in Milan, which, from a large traffic hub will become a green open-air square, linked to NoLo neighbourhood to ensure continuity to Corso Buenos Aires, Viale Monza and Viale Padova axis.
The project, as declared in its name, Loreto Open Community, has the intent to become an icon and symbol for the entire city, finally able to restore the true meaning of the word “square” to its citizens.
Today Piazzale Loreto square is a crossroad caracterized by traffic congestion, but it will be transformed into a high quality inclusive place, a public space that will be a symbol of contemporary architecture and life for Milan.
In short, a real point of reference and sociality for the citizens of Milan.
Part of the project is also the building situated in via Porpora, that now host the offices of the Municipality of Milan, which will be subject to a redevelopment and expansion and will house a neighborhood kindergarten, coworking spaces and offices.
Alchema has been therefore involved for its skills and experience in the development and management of coworking spaces.
Piazzale Loreto square will become a new large square, accessible, open and, above all, green: trees will be planted and benches and fountains will embellish this “agorà”, that will develop on three levels.
The multidisciplinary team is composed by: Arcadis Italia, Metrogramma, andreacaputo.com, MIC – Mobility In Chain, LAND, Squadrati, IGPDecaux, Siemens, Helexia Italia, Temporiuso and MIAGE.
