EPEA CH – Cradle to Cradle
Bicocca District: Culture and innovation for the metropolitan city of Milan

Alchema has signed a partnership agreement with EPEA Switzerland to promote and develop the approach known internationally as Cradle to Cradle (C2C) also in Italy. At the base of the circular economy, C2C is a philosophy of production and services based on waste minimization, eco-efficacy, maximum compatibility of products with biological systems.

FROM CRADLE TO CRADLE

The purpose of C2C is to go beyond the mere rationalization of the use of resources and raw materials, to rethink products and services so that they can fully enter the biological cycles. C2C design systematically incorporates a fourth dimension into design: time. Materials’ flows are designed to be as cyclical as possible and as linear as possible. Alchema and EPEA Switzerland, together with italian companies offer the opportunity to redesign their production cycles, products and services in order to contain waste, minimize the energy and materials needed, decrease production and disposal costs, eliminate any component that is not fully compatible with natural systems.

Alchema, with the Co+Fabb project, becomes part of the Bicocca District, together with the most active institutions in the northern area of Milan and the closer municipalities of Cinisello Balsamo and Sesto San Giovanni.

A NETWORK ABLE TO PROMOTE SYNERGIC ACTIONS BETWEEN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE

The aim is to enhance and requalify the northern area of the Metropolitan City of Milan, to encourage collaboration between institutions, to attract talents, to create growth and development opportunities, to improve the quality of services and life for residents and those who operate in the area.

Triwù – The web TV of Innovation

Science, technology, innovation: these are the themes most frequently at the center of the work of Triwù, a Milanese company specialized in scientific communication with which Alchema has often collaborated.
Triwù was born in 2011 from the meeting between people engaged in the world of innovation and research and TiConUno, another reality active since 1994 in the management of research, communication and training activities in the scientific, cultural and social fields.

THE FIRST WEB TV OF INNOVATION

Triwù is also the name of the first innovation web TV, but the platforms used are different: traditional and web printing, radio, social networking, organization of events, documentaries, organization of seminars, production and management of Internet websites.

For Radio24-Il Sole 24ORE, Triwù has produced numerous radio broadcasts on topics related to science, technology and innovation (Moebius, Smart City, FoodLab, Artificial Intelligence, Elementary Watson, Progress, Mr Kilowatt). Among the most significant experiences made for private companies, it is worth mentioning IoET TV, Cisco’s web TV on the Internet of Everything and the Call for Ideas for Electrolux and Faber.

It coordinates thematic workshops and the Innovation Award during SMAU national events. He collaborates on an ongoing basis with numerous research centers for communication and technology transfer promotion activities: University of Milan Bicocca, INRIM, E. Piaggio Center of Pisa, University of Milan, Polytechnic of Milan. Partner of several European projects, Triwù is also operating in complex communication areas as the CREW Project, an experience promoted by the Cariplo Foundation dedicated to the design of tools for disability starting from an advanced co-design activity between technicians, stakeholders and users.
